Nice post Bill. I thoroughly agree with this philosophy. The idea of society having life planned out for you is expounded by an Alan Watts narration over animation video on YouTube called "Music and Life." Check it out. I actually wrote an article, incorporating this video, commenting on music and reality. Interestingly, less the 12 months ago I too flipped my entire life around to pursue a more meaningful existence as a writer and autodidact.

Hey Bill – another great post. Your Einstein allusion reminded me of an Alex Shalman post I read earlier today. Einstein said “…not that I-m so smart, it-s just that I stay with problems longer.”

I think that you might enjoy Ryan Holiday’s writing. A good place to start is this entry. He makes reference to a few people and concepts that you mightn’t be familiar with, but it’s worth spending the time to read his archives.

Have a look, and let me know if my recommendation hit the mark.
